We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as stress-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and discovering Tororo in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a stress-free experience if you've got all the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare change of clothes and a few magazines. Next, leave space in your bag for your laptop, a charger, any vital medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and go for shoes that are flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Most travelers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To minimize your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and move your legs and feet often.
