Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're prepared. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will get your Upper Capel vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, pack your passport, official ID, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the time. A juicy book and a tablet filled with your favorite shows are some great options. If you hope to catch forty winks, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by wearing layers, and pick flat, easy-to-remove footwear like slip-ons.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your legs and feet often.
