Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you prepare well enough. We've compiled a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Varikon escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, pack your passport, travel docs, credit cards and medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy novel and a phone filled with your favorite movies are some fantastic options. If you hope to catch up on some sleep, a quality neck pillow and some noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you arrive feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and fireworks, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to make yourself as comfortable as you can. Dress in loose, natural fibers and bring a cardigan just in case you get cold. Always opt for roomy, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the journey. Leave the stilettos and heavy hiking boots in your luggage.
- Most travelers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There are plenty of ways to reduce your risk. Wear a quality pair of compression socks or tights, drink plenty of water and move your legs and feet. Walk the aisles of the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
