Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've put together a list of handy hints that will get your Vestfossen vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, make room in your bag for your laptop, a charger, any daily medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and fuels, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as possible. Dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and remember to bring a pullover just in case you get cold. Pick well-fitting, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the journey. Leave the high heels and chunky boots in your checked luggage.
- Most travelers have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. There's lots you can do to mitigate your risk. Wear compression tights or socks, drink lots of water often and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Walk around the cabin when possible or perform some stretches in your seat.
