Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well organized. We've compiled a list of essential travel tips that will get your Voel vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be easy if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a good novel. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, any vital medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items differs between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes tools, metal cutlery, fuels and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like ice skates, and objects that could injure passengers, such as swords and guns, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of your plane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and remember to bring a cardigan as it tends to get cool inside the cabin on long-haul flights. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are always a good idea too.
- The result of lengthy periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect some passengers during long flights. But the good news is there are ways to reduce your risk of developing it. Stay well hydrated, wander through the cabin as often as you can and wear compression socks or tights.
