The absolute best things about the hotel are the proximity to the train station and the neighborhood/things to do in the area. The actual hotel was terrible. One of the reasons I booked the hotel was to be able to take a nice hot bath. After check-in at 3 pm I ran the water on the hottest setting for quite awhile and what I got was lukewarm at best. Front desk just said “there’s probably a lot of people showering before the Cubs game”
When I tried to run the water this morning it was even worse, wasn’t even lukewarm, it was actually cold! Didn’t even bother trying to take a bath in cold water. I brought this up to the front desk upon checkout and they said absolutely nothing about it, offered to do nothing for me. Having a hot shower/bath is one of the most important aspects of any hotel in my opinion, besides cleanliness. The room was fairly clean but the carpets desperately needed replacing. The floor underneath the carpets was also very soft in many spots, I didn’t feel that it was safe to walk on. There was no view to speak of. I didn’t mind that so much because I was really just there for a hot shower and a clean bed. At least the bed was clean. The bed was not comfortable at all though, hard, lumpy, and springy. I should also mention that there are no outlets around the top of the bed or nightstand, so you have to charge your phone across the room. If you want a cold shower and a clean lumpy bed for a high rate in a decent neighborhood this place is perfect for you!
