Seemed like a fairly typical Thai regional town. It’s a bit of a transition type place as lots of visitors stay a day or two (as I did) transferring from Train to onward travel to islands or continuing south.

The bungalows at Rimsiri are well designed, very clean, and thoughtfully appointed. We loved the outdoor kitchen! The property is full of beautiful green and flowering plants, trees, palms, and there are some roosters, hens, and even a pair of white peacocks wandering around from a nearby house. ...

Explore the great outdoors at Mu Ko Chumphon National Park, a lovely green space in Chumphon. While you're in the area, stroll along the white-sand beaches.
Though Chumphon Khet Udomsak Hospital might be what brings you to town, perhaps you'll have a chance to explore more of Chumphon while you are here.

Chumphon appears to be a sleepy provincial town. The main attractions appear to be the nature in the surrounding area.
It was cool to be in the forest but the wallablility was not good.
