"From the minute we checked in and met Jock at the front desk, we knew it was the right hotel! He was BEYOND the best staff member we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. He understood our needs and was extremely helpful in all areas of our stay! The hotel was very centrally located and a short walk to attractions in all directions. The hotel was clean and as crazy at this sounds, we even used our black light to check! An awesome place all around! I highly recommend staying here anytime you’re looking for hotels in the Chicago River Walk area! Shout out to our new friend Jock! Could not thank him enough for making our stay so comfortable!"
"Great experience. Lobby area is a tad small but love to see the hustle and bustle of guests downstairs enjoying the amenities. Rooms were clean and definitely utilize our drink and breakfast coupons. We loved Emma as she was attending to us most days. Raymond I think at check-in was also quite helpful."
"The staff was very helpful and accommodating, we arrived early and a room was available. Our room was very clean, a nice walk in rain shower with a bench. They have a nice restaurant the Hoyt that has good breakfast, lunch and dinner options. The location is optimal since so many things are within walking distance or a short cab ride usually $12-15 bucks. We loved Chicago and the Royal Sonesta and will definitely stay here again."
The Chicago Hotel Collection Ambassador Gold Coast
10/10 Excellent
"The Ambassador Gold Coast was our first hotel stay as we embarked on an AmTrak Rail Pass trek across the country and back, and they set the bar very high! The staff was very helpful, the room was large with a big window, very clean, great bed, and nice bathroom. The buffet breakfast (included) was the BEST of the entire month-long trip! Everything imaginable, in a lovely comfortable dining room. Also, we were welcomed with free drink tickets at the bar, and an h'or d'oeuvre ticket that we didn't have time to use! We loved the Gold Coast neighborhood, felt very safe there, and this hotel remained an absolute favorite for the remainder of our trip. Thanks for getting us off to a great start on the trip of a lifetime! We hope to stay there again, and will recommend it to anyone traveling to Chicago!"
