We were fortunate to be there on August 15th, 2025, when the resort marked National Relaxation Day with its first-ever yoga class at the heliport—a magical spot overlooking the forest. The event also celebrated Rio Perdido’s inclusion in the Small Luxury Hotels of the World’s new Wellbeing Collection. Marisol, the yoga teacher, created an unforgettable experience, blending yoga with her ukulele and ethereal singing. But the highlight came from someone special: Johan Jimenez, a 19-year-old staff member who embodies the heart of Rio Perdido. We saw him shine as a waiter, a mixologist at the pool bar, quietly keeping the pool immaculate, and ultimately bringing soul to our private engagement dinner.
