"This is really the only game in town in Abiquiu. And I think that's their attitude. We waited at least 10 minutes to check in while the attendant tried to ring up a sale from the gift shop. (Did not succeed.) And when checking out two employees had an in-depth conversation for at least as long while I stood there. They saw me and continued talking which was weird. Our room looked clean, but there were some dead bugs on the floor. The floor is mainly tiled, but there is carpet in some areas and it appeared very stained and dirty. The biggest disappointment was the Cafe. Yikes. The meh food was only superseded by the poor service. Ignore anything favorable you read about the Trout. But if you chance it, remind them it comes with a baked potato and not french fries. If there is any option besides the charred, shriveled vegetables take it. And simply avoid the chicken tacos which appeared to be leftover chicken (no seasoning at all) dropped in teeny tortillas and covered with cheese. Just awful. Waitress brought apps and entrees out at once, forgot our drinks and still charged us for them. Disappeared for long stretches so that other staff had to step in. Got to Bodes and get take out. It is gourmet compared to this place."
"Location was convenient for the purpose of my trip. Rooms are out dated and need renovations. Broken tiles in the bathroom and toilet paper dispenser needs to be fixed or replaced. Found a few bugs flying in the room."
"This is an older motel like facility that has been remodeled. It is very southwest style. The room was adequate especially the comfortable beds. I slept well! The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is run by East Indians who speak very good English. My only criticism is that their restaurant servers only East Indian food, which I am allergic to. They do offer an American menu for breakfast. Sandwiches and such. Their buffet is only Indian. We had to get in the car and go into Taos for a complete breakfast!"
