Terrible and room full of bed bugs

The bed was so uncomfortable, the springs are poking through the mattress. To top it off the room and bed is full of bed bugs, I woke up every morning with bites on my legs and my partner had 7 bites all over his face. See previous comments from guests who suffered the bed bugs and shared images of them. Terrible and disgusting. The rooms need deep cleaning. Be warned

Very rude lady. beds extremely uncomfortable springs poking through sheets stained with mold. No toilet roll. No heating and no extra blankets. Very damp. Plus a surcharge for breakfast yet when I booked breakfast included.

We booked on Expedia got all the usually text and email confirmation on arrival at MJ GUESTHOUSE we got approached by a rude woman called Mary. Who refused to even let us enter the doorway after a 2 hour drive anyway I explained we had a double room booked she said there’s no bookings I tried to explain I’ve all the evidence etc bank statements emails texts she said IM NOT INTERESTED WHAT YOU HAVE THAT MEANS NOTHING TO ME YOU HAVE NOT PAID and slammed the door in my face! After knocking again and she came back to the door and said WHAT DO YOU WANT NOW ? I said omg your really rude ! Which she replied I don’t care and gave me the number to ring the owner which was a foreign lady and she was even ruder ! Our holiday spoiled in 15 minutes we were so shocked and upset that we got back in the car and drove straight back home. Unbelievable customer service from a so called bed and breakfast ! Never again I hope people read this and take notice I’m still trying to get a refund through Expedia for this monstrosity of a place. -10/10

I do like to be beside the seaside

It was only a short break so there's not much to go on and CORVID19 made things difficult I had my own toilet next to my room I would like to have a outside lock to stop anyone else use it the guest house was will run and clean however the lady running it worked hard and could have done with help at breakfast time

A lovely hotel. Lovely people who own the hotel......a very comfortable room. Loved the little touches too eg...nice toiletries and slippers to use. A fabulous sea view from our room (room 4 ) Thank you

Great bedroom, good location, broken shower

We stayed for a few days. Close to the seafront and cleethorpes pubs. Room was really lovely and clean. The shower was shared and didn’t work at all which was a shame!

Overnight stay for Football.

Overnight stay prior to Grimsby Town v Swindon Town (A 3-0 away win made this a great weekend). The Guest House is very close to both the Railway Station and the town with its friendly locals and good Sea Front, Pubs, Restaurants and Cafes. The (Family) room was spacious with a comfortable bed, nice shower and decent size TV. Nice Lady let me in and everything was easy thereafter.

Nicely placed on sea front. Very pleasant property. Rooms are nice and the beds are really comfy. Staff and owners are very welcoming and breakfast is worth getting up for. Couldn't have had a more pleasant stay.

A nice, quiet room. Not much information given on check in or in the hotel guide ie not told check out time or any details on breakfast, just here are the keys for the doors really but then again I didn't ask either. Pleasant, friendly staff.

Location is very good for town and beach but on a noisy, busy street where parking was veru limited. I had to find parking on adjacent atreets. The staff member who greeted me was pleasant and helpful. The property itself was tired and basic.There was a dining room woth microwave and kettle etc for guest use. The bed was comfortable enough, The sanitary ware in the bathroom had been cleaned but the radiator and a pot of plastic flowers in there were thick with dust and tiles needed a good clean, as d8d the bath mat. This was a budget booking and so for what i paid the room itself was adequate. The standard of cleaning in the en suite was my main disappointment.

Not cheap and certainly not cheerful.

The shower was scalding and we couldn't turn it down to a comfortable heat so ended up having a bath.Next morning it didn't work at all. No-one around to report it. It was very outdated with bath and toilet mats - not necessary. floorboards all squeaky and the carpet needed changing. It had a very shabby feel. Was greeted by the owner locking up who wasn't very pleasant and made me feel like i was staying there for free. The pillow was rock hard.

Nice Guest House

This guest house is really close to the promenades in Cleethorpes. I had a triple room with me and 2 kids and while it was a bit cramped it wasn't too bad. Flat screen TV with Digital channels and a fridge, room cleaned everyday with fresh tea and coffee, helpful staff. Only bad points where the plumbing, the saniflow system made some horrendous noises and the shower was either freezing or burn your skin off.
