The location of the property was fantastic for Frenchman Street. We had a two bedroom/one bathroom suite, which was adequate and fine for our Stay. There was also a very nice balcony. The big problem was parking. It is advertised as free parking… One spot per room, subject to availability. I contacted the property two times and was not adequately cautioned that there apparently is not sufficient spots for each room to have one parking spot. Because I had not made prior parking reservations, we paid $120 extra just to park the car during the time period that I thought was going to be free. This was a source of contention for me since it was completely unexpected and I did not plan for it. Be advised. Otherwise, would recommend this place for Location to Frenchman Street and the French market.

Hands down the most amazing hotel I have ever stayed at. We came down for the first day of Jazz Fest and this property just made our trip spectacular. Everything was great I don’t even know where to begin, from the location, the property, the room, to check in/check out. There are so many pros, this is going to be our forever property whenever we come down to NOLA. Location: this was the cherry on top, when I say everything is walking distance I mean everything. Pack some good walking shoes, our car stayed parked in the parking lot the whole trip. We walked back from Jazz Fest(Ubers/traffic was a nightmare everywhere so we decided to walk back and made it safely) we walked down to Ruby Slipper Cafe for breakfast/brunch and grabbed some coffee and pastries down at Ayu Bakehouse( highly recommend both in your visit) Buffa’s across the street for some drinks and live music. -Room: BOOK THE FRENCHMAN SUITE!!! DO IT! HUGE, Clean, the best A/C I have had at any hotel, amazing bathroom/ shower, it was like our own little NOLA apartment, we felt right at home. -Staff was so friendly and kind from check in to check out. -Area was nice, quiet and safe! If you want to be near everything but appreciate your sleep, this is the PLACE!! Just book it, it is definitely worth every penny and more! Melrose Mansion has a customer for life.

Nice room, a little light on towels, good area to most places

The chemicals they used to clean the room will irritated my allergies causing me to have an allergic reaction. The hotel should consider using cleaning items that are odorless. Also, the front desk would not give me a receipt when I asked and did not offer complimentary breakfast. I will not stay here again.
