Niranta Airport Transit Hotel & Lounge Terminal 2 Arrivals
8/10 Good
"Very Convenient for transit passengers .. 1-2 nights.. no hassle of taking luggage out and bring in if you stay outside the airport.. you always get transportation to and from"
"The Sofitel BKC Hotel in Mumbai is an excellent property which caters to a wide range of tastes with breakout spaces for drinks and snacks besides the main Pondicherry cafe.
Unfortunately I could not get any points for my three nights stay as I booked through Expedia. Unless this policy changes travellers will never get the full benefit of using this property."
"Good place to stay if you want to be near the airport. The property is old and not maintained. Beds are very comfortable, but don’t count on anyone picking up your call. Takes a few tries before anyone picks up. DO NOT try in-room dinning - significantly overpriced and substandard food. I paid $22 for a cold coffee and a soggy sandwich. Had to toss it.
Staff is good but, just like every hotel, be ready to tip them to really help you out.
Good overall experience."
"As a family, we are Taj fans, as a result we have stayed at many Taj properties and have always returned more than happy, the Taj hospitality had at each time lived up to its promise. The brand and what it stands for always redeemed and pleasantly exceeded.
However, the Taj Mahal Towers was a severe disappointment.
We were initially given a room on the "smoking floor" despite requesting otherwise on the promise that we shall not encounter any foul smells. However, that wasn't the case and on our requiest to be moved to a non-smoking room we were moved, but precious time was lost.
That said, it is apprent that the Taj Mahal Towers isn't luxury: the rooms and it's bathrooms small, fit outs, not luxurious but quite ordinary. The corridors very compact, the breakfast restaurant cramped, the lobby very busy. One felt that one was on a public concourse, the guests and the staff felt distant and alien to each other. The entrance porch again very busy and noisy, the valet takes forever to get your car. And while you wait on the landing of the steps no fans to ease the uncomfortable wait from the sweltering Arabian Sea humidity and heat.
The TAJ management definitely needs to ponder on how they can make this property exude luxury, calm, and a personal touch. Hope my favorite brand can work its magic."
"The rooms were spotless, the staff was incredibly helpful, and the breakfast spread was amazing. The food overall was delicious, and the location of the property is absolutely wonderful.
The only downside for me was the pool — I had mainly booked the hotel for it, but unfortunately couldn’t really use it as it was quite deep. Apart from that, everything else was perfect.
Overall, it was a really good stay and definitely worth visiting and staying here."
"The check in started off with significant friction of room selections. This property lobby is great, however rooms are dated, dirty and not TAJ brand like. The property has significant differed maintenance. Though we upgraded 2 rooms to their "selections suite" (best rooms in the hotel) paying a lot more, 1702 and 1720, the rooms were dirty, AC never went below 20 degrees c/ 70 degrees f and usually stated at around 22-24 degrees (72-78 degrees f) during the day making it extremely uncomfortable. The hotel manager sighted that since the room was facing the west and is on their top floor, it becomes hot, but the AC is working great! lol. At 3:15 am, we woke up to water leaking from the air conditioning unit in the bathroom and completely drenched everything. We were met by an attitude of "I am not surprised this happened" and moved us to a standard room that has smell of smoke. It was one thing after another. They are first to charge, but do NOT meet the "TAJ" hotel brand name. I have stayed at no star hotels and 5 star hotels across the world. This one is probably one that charges like a 5 star, but delivers like a substandard 3 star at best. Though they have amenities, we never got to enjoy anything because of lack of sleep, hot rooms and poor maintained facilities.
The plus side, breakfast and an Italian restaurant were good.
My family and I do NOT recommend this hotel and urge the TAJ group to kindly review this hotel as it does NOT deserve the TAJ name brand!"
