lovely clean modern rooms with balcony! Comfy beds, fab bathroom with powerful shower (: Great customer service. Only negative for me was that the pillows were really hard but im sure if i had asked they would have provided a soft one. Would definately stay again if I was visiting Colchester & I dont often like a place enough to want to.
Really friendly check in (and out), staff throughout the hotel were friendly. Grounds were really nice to walk around, breakfast was nice and having the additional cooked to order elements was great.
Room was lovely. Minor feedback would be that the pillows were not great, but all in it was a really lovely hotel.
Excellent place to stay the staff were amazing food was outstanding rooms so clean the only slight disappointment was there was a few weddings a day which restricted us from enjoying the gardens
Had a really nice nightās stay with a 3 course meal each at the hotelās restaurant and we got an upgrade to a balcony room for Ā£15. Friendly staff and lovely luxury hotel with luxury amenities in the room too. Only improvement could be better air conditioning as the room was still quite hot even with fan unit and ceiling fan
Lovely clean hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Good quiet location and easy parking. Food and beer was also nice. Good breakfast. Will return when back in area for sure.
I found the hotel welcoming stunningly beautiful. I had breakfast in my room and it was 10 out of 10 absolutely excellent I travel alone. I am female and I have a hotel like this is incredibly important to me. It was excellent.
I arrived late but the welcome was still amazing.
Lovely room, well equipped with a beautiful view.
Super breakfast and easy checkout.
I will definitely revisit and recommend.

Lovely room and very friendly staff at both reception and in the brasserie.
Excellent welcome, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, the toaster is amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. Super convenient, as I was on a course at the university that weekend.

Friendly staff, clean room hotel decorated lovely for Xmas
We had an overnight stay at Wivenhoe, we had early drinks at the bar and Isaac was super attentive, polite and friendly. Isaac is a credit to the team and came across hard working and conscientious
The room was clean and well maintained, bed was very comfy and we had a very peaceful and restful night. The grounds are beautiful we took a walk around the lake then went for more cocktails at the bar. It was an easy drive back into Colchester to see the historic castle the following day. Would highly recommend to all and would love to visit again šš
Beautiful setting , not too far from home but we wanted to escape the beach crowds from home and it was very peaceful at the hotel.
Had an overcharge issue with drinks bill but have been told itās being dealt with. Special Thankyou to Abby for her help.
We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff were polite and friendly throughout our visit. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, and the buffet breakfast was delicious with a great selection. We would happily stay here again.
We recently stayed for 2 nights in the Reynolds Room, in the main hotel, which was a really lovely room, quiet with wonderful views. Loved the bathroom products and the towels were fabulous and clean. There were 5 roller blinds to close every night and open every morning, which was fiddly and there were gaps of light coming through during the night and especially at day break. Might have been better if there was just one blind across the front window, thatās me being picky, as I love a dark room!
Breakfast was lovely, great choices and the restaurant staff were very attentive and chatty, with attention to detail. We ate on the first night in the restaurant, we didnāt have a massive appetite but decided to have a burger each, which was very disappointing as it had been cremated and was really, really crispy and for Ā£19 rather expensive. In hindsight, we should have sent them back, our fault really. Decided to eat elsewhere on the second night.
The gardens and seating areas outside were lovely and pleasant. All in all we enjoyed our stay, this is probably the best hotel in the area and we would recommend a stay here.
