โSuper friendly and helpful staff especially Joe and Keri. Lovely owners who chatted with us each night and gave us tips on what to see. Comfortable bed and room.
Really old buildings so donโt expect it to be pristine but it has loads of character and history.
We ate in the pub both nights, the food was good, served very quickly considering it is all cooked to order and was fairly priced.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back.โ
โOK Lodge is just a name; what is is is a (nicely) extended and converted terraced house opposite a park; so now a few studio flats, with some common areas. Modern and clean but a couple of issues - like oven not even wired in; no table to eat off; and also whilst we booked for 3 adults and was confirmed; they called to say max was 2 adults & a child and would not refund the extra ยฃ50 for the 3rd adult (who couldn't now come of course) and I had to go through Expedia to get resolved. โArrived at the property and called to check in. Was told that property was closed for refurbishment and I had to go to a different property managed by them 15 minutes away.
Got there and room was minimal and bare. Host was nice but it wasnโt an aparthotel as the original one was advertised as.
I left and booked a night at a local Travelodge instead. โ
โOur experience with this property was unacceptable from the start. When we arrived, the host had lost our reservationโwe had to call them just to gain access. Once inside, we found the house in a filthy and unsafe state. A full bag of garbage sat on the kitchen floor, a dirty mattress leaned against the house, and a bottle full of cigarette butts was outside.
The cleaner admitted, โOh, I forgot to clean,โ swapped out some sheets, and left. But the space remained unsanitaryโgreasy dishes, dusty...
