“The property was in the least to say grubby and I shudder to think what the hotel inspector with white gloves on the tv would make of the hotel
The front of house personal wore the same clothes for the duration of our stay and everything she did seemed to be an effort”
“Accomodation was larger than it looks in the photos, which was a nice surprise. The beds were comfortable, however I would take earplugs as I struggled to sleep due to the cars going past outside. I had to go and buy some from the town centre. At night the cars whizz past really fast.
The listing states that there is free parking but this isn’t true- you have to pay for it. I have asked Hotels.com to amend this as it’s false advertising. The reason we booked this hotel was for the free...
“We loved our stay here. It was just what we needed a wholesome family night away. The food was amazing, the views spectacular and our cottage was very cute, clean and comfortable with everything we needed.
Definitely highly recommend.”
“The room, a junior suite, was most comfortable but sadly lacking in air-conditioning, although the current heat wave has been exceptional. Lovely views, peaceful, apart from the noise of the butterflies, all that one could wish for. For the price the owners may want to consider replacing the square of soap with refillable pump dispensers and providing a loo brush! We had an enjoyable dinner served by the very friendly staff and were delighted to have our breakfast served, not a buffet,...
“The hotel is having building work done which was not disclosed
Drilling and hammering started at 730am
Do not visit the hotel!!
Terrible noise and no one at reception until after midday ”
“Fantastic option if staying in the area. Nice bug spacious room. Very helpful staff, and delicious breakfast included. Would recommend and stay again if we were in the area in the future.”
“We had a fantastic stay at The Family Tree. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was lovely, clean and quiet. And the breakfast was amazing! Just a few minutes’ drive from the Tramway Museum, or a lovely 40-minute walk along the canal to the Hurt Arms in Ambergate.
In the end, we were sorry that we were only staying the one night; wish we could have stayed longer. We will absolutely stay here again the next time we’re in Derbyshire!”
