“The hotel was nice and in the center of town, so conveniently located. The room was a little small and hard to squeeze around the furniture to get to the door and bathroom.”

“We generally stay at premium hotels but tried this place based on reviews. Drove for 2 hours from EDI to this property. The owner/manager greeted us and asked about dinner plans. Very kind person who guided us about next morning’s breakfast. Being vegetarian, they prepared exhaustive menu based on our dietary preference. Very good hospitality and also imparted valuable information about silver sands beach and ferry to Isle of Sky. Overall an excellent experience!!”

“It was a strange smell between our room and the restaurant area where we had to pass through our bags! The staff are fairly helpful. The location was lovely, but unfortunately the shower in our room didn’t work very well.”

“Hotel room was modern and clean can’t fault, breakfast on the other hand was not so good , £12 for a fry up….pricey and not good, the fried egg was burnt the potato scone was like rubber and the haggis was all mush, came on a rectangle plate not round or square, not fit for purpose, whoever the cook is needs to learn how to fry an egg. I would stay at the hotel again and go for breakfast somewhere else.”

“The Highland Hotel was very nice. As mentioned by others, it's in need of some love: new curtains, new bedding. However, that didn't change our experience. The restaurants were all nice and had much better food than their individual reviews suggested. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The rooms don't come with refrigerators but they offer to store anything you need in their main fridge. Our daughter loved the pool and the playground.”

“The Cairn Hotel is a lovely hotel in a great location, with friendly and helpful staff throughout my stay. Whilst my room wasn’t en-suite, my private toilet was 2 steps across the corridor - not big deal, but remember your key otherwise you're locked out of your room Dinner was excellent from a well appointed menu, I had the haggis lasagne which was very well presented, generously portioned, and served efficiently. The bar is adjacent and is very well stocked with a good selection of wines,...

“Can’t say enough good things about Muckrach Country House. The home is absolutely gorgeous. Our room was stunning. We had absolutely the best nights sleep of our whole trip! More importantly Donnie and the staff are the sweetest people! We only got to stay one night but wish we had more time to stay. Absolutely book it, you won’t be disappointed.”

“The location is good. With trailheads within walking distance. They’ve tried to automate processes that either don’t work or are useless. For example the automated car registration didn’t help them notify me that my car would be blocked for a morning while heavy equipment was being moved in. Free WiFi means no useable WiFi. They did upgrade my WiFi service but should just ditch the ‘free’ version. The staff are multitasking leaving people waiting for services. Hats off to them.”
