"The Boat Inn is an incredible spot to stay in while visiting Oughterard or Galway. The rooms are so clean and well maintained. The check-in is really easy. I would highly recommend staying here. "Can’t say enough good things about this property! The location on the lake is fabulous and it is on the way to Connemara National Park and the coast. The two sitting rooms with fireplaces were a welcome refuge after a day of hiking and sightseeing . We were able to walk by the lake and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The lodge itself is exactly what you would expect in a natural Irish setting. The food was very good and the bar was cozy offering an opportunity to meet other guests. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Tom the bartender was a charm. They washed our clothes at no charge and returned them folded! Wish we could have stayed longer."

"Clean and quiet lodge great for anyone looking for a peaceful stay. A 10 minute walk into the town and a 20 minute bus ride to Connemara National Park which was absolutely stunning. The breakfast was quite good as well for a buffet style arrangement, able to have a full Irish if you so please as well as fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, and oatmeal. The staff were very accommodating as there were huge delays with the rails and a missed train the day we arrived and we didn't get in until after 8 pm with no problems."
