“Good Stay”

“Starting with the room: The room was great. There was a great view of the lake from the window and everything was as advertised. The breakfast was amazing. I loved having the pancakes both days. The restaurant at other times was also good and there was a complimentary beer tasting for the guests. The staff were amazingly nice. I really liked the guy that checked us in. “Lovely self sustaining eco resort in the midst of the forest. We loved the food, the coziness of the cabin, the yoga classes, and wandering around the property. The farm tour and the night tour were fun activities to do with a 4 year old. We did not like: occasional smell of sewage around the property, especially around the pools. Dated bathrooms in cabins - needs a refresh. Construction noise around the property. ”

“The view and the owner/hostess made our stay! The personal attention at breakfast was delightful. This feels more like renting a villa with a morning chef than like a hotel. There are a couple good restaurants at the bottom of the hill for dinner. The drive to La Fortuna is 30 minutes. Be aware there is no air conditioning. There are windows with screens on 3 sides of the villa so the breeze is nice. In the morning you’ll hear a beautiful symphony of birds. I would stay here again.”

“The rooms were clean, staff is very friendly and aims to please. The lodge offers a simple nice breakfast. Dinner is also available if you confirm - we chose to eat off property. The road to arrive is extremely rough - potholes, less than two lanes at times - but worth it once you arrive. There was no TV in our room, I suggest making certain you have games or other entertainment. I also suggest planning to arrive back at the lodge early evening, before it gets too dark, but only due to the...
