“We had a terrible stay at the Westin on St. John. Unfortunately, this luxury hotel gave away our room even after I had called to confirm that we would be one day late due to airplane issues and we understood that we may have to pay for that night. “Power went out often on the island, a generator is needed at this property. Out flight was cancelled and we lost a day. I was told we would get credit for that but haven’t received confirmation of that yet. Location is okay, taxi service is a few blocks away, restaurants close. Not sure if I’d return or recommend at this time, still waiting on owner to honor his verbal agreement. But no matter what, a generator is desperately needed to protect a quality experience. ”

Unfortunately, our stay coincided with an island wide power outage that lasted almost 3 days and the hotel, like many others, doesn't a backup generator system. The government run utility is known for unreliable service and I feel sorry for the businesses that rely on it. ”

“Our stay at The Saint was great, the room was clean and had a beautiful view of the Sea. The balcony had lovely flowering plants nearby that were wonderfully fragrant which added a special feature to our morning coffee on the porch. There was a self service laundry room and an honor bar if u need a water or a beer or sunscreen. Wi-Fi was great averaging about 60 mbps. The kitchenette worked great, even had an oven and microwave. “Great location to Cruz bay and restaurants, shopping etc.. The villa was nice and views were outstanding. Staff was timely and courteous to our needs in ways they could be of assistance. Unfortunately we experienced several power outages (one over 24hrs) water outages and no internet connection for most of our trip. “A gorgeous, magical location. Note it is rustic. You will hear wind against the cabin walls, you will shower with a garden hose and use a composting toilet. If you can hang with that and can be fairly self-sufficient, you'll have an incredible time here. Sheets and towels are clean. Small basic kitchenette. Limited internet...
