"Great location . Friendly staff. Good breakfast. But I was annoyed at having to pay £15 parking in what is a public car park so difficult to find a car spot. I was insulted to have to pay £15 for half litre of still water to take to room, for these 2 reasons We wouldn’t stay there again. "

"Short notice trip, hotel was very quiet, staff were super accommodating with breakfast times due to business arrangements, beautiful location and good food."

"Free parking and views of lake from the dining room were very good. Half board - the dinner was good but overpriced so the 10% service charge worked out extortionate. NOT GOOD We were put in a small loft room with a difficult door to open and a tight stair access- the room and whole property needs a lick of paint and could be cleaner. Location too far from bowness - walking into town is 20minutes but on both roads which had no pavement so very dangerous. Wouldn’t stay here again ."

Good range of breakfast options (the pancakes from the kitchen order options were fab). Good quality food for evening meal in the dining room. The location speaks for itself - fantastic. "

"What a find! This beautiful hall is just perfect. Fabulous location with peacocks and lovely trails to walk in the extensive grounds. Our room had a super king bed and usual facilities. There is a spacious dining room and well stocked bar. You won't go away hungry as the food is excellent with generous portions. Very friendly and helpful staff. It's a must visit! "

"Great location in the heart of Grasmere. Easy parking. Good breakfast. Lovely new bathroom. The room itself and the restaurant and reception areas could do with a bit of an update which would make it fabulous. Maybe removing some carpets and having wooden floors would help. "

"What a gem! I was so sad to leave the property! Everyone was so charming, the facilities were stunning and the art pieces surrounding the property were magical! Marco was the first person we met on a rainy night and he could not have been more gracious! We stayed in one of the cottages and it was such a beautiful ambiance!
