“The whole hotel needs a facelift. Lift difficult to operate and had a strange smell. Shower needs 2 types of shower head, not just a waterfall with no shower hat provided. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. Disappointed, expected slightly more from a four star hotel.”

“The room was clean and cared for. It had a hairdryer, iron/ironing board, tv and aircon. The bathroom looked like it has been refurbished recently The staff were friendly and attentive We paid for the breakfast option, there was a good variety to choode from and it was delicious The was karaoke in the bar in the evening A thoroughly enjoyable stay in a great location, central to all the attractions”

“Ik wilde een echt Engels plattelands hotel met een pub. Daaraan heeft dit hotel volledig voldaan. Het bier van het freehouse was uitstekend en de pub maaltijden waren lekker en origineel. De kamer voldeed aan de verwachtingen : teafacility, tv. Prima badkamer. De kamer waar ik in verbleef was buiten het hoofdgebouw. De muren waren zo dik, dat ik geen last heb gehad van het erg warme weer. Ik kan het van harte aanbevelen.”

“This stay was perfect the pub and accommodation offered a warm old fashioned authentic overnight stay for 4 of us in a family room. The staff were kind and friendly and made you feel like an important guest. The home made food was delicious and service was prompt and professional and choice and ingredients very good and traditional. If you are looking for a traditional Norfolk pub stay this would be perfect.”

“The carpet in our room was so old and in places appeared to be mouldy… we had a tiny basin in the room (and no basin in the en-suite) which was partially overhung by a shelf that made it very difficult to use properly and was likely the cause of the mould in front of it. Our ‘en-suite’ was cramped and the shower cubicle had mould in the sealant and grout. The extractor fan did not work and therefore the bathroom and bedroom felt and smelled damp when we returned after a day out- it was 26...

“Minus:) carpets in the corridors where filthy, there was an unpleasant smell . Found cobwebs in the corners of the room out of reach. Good :) the bed was comfortable kitchen was good.”

“Although the room was small there were all the necessary facilities available. Robert the host was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The choice of breakfast and quality were excellent. The hotel is well situated,close to beach and resort centre and car parking is on the street but no problem finding a space.”

“The hotel itself is lovely, the room we stayed in was spacious, high powered shower & a mini fridge. Major issue with pigeons on the balcony, 3 nesting plus others hopping about & unfortunately with pigeons comes a horrific amount of poop! Couldn’t have window open for fear of them coming into the room. Also our breakfast experience was ruined by the chefs inability to cook eggs. Poached or fried the yolks were hard despite (not that I should have to) asking for them to be runny. This really is...

“Unless you're on a strict budget & accept low standards - Avoid! The main building itself is nicely located (in a seemingly depressed seaside town) with a clean & spacious bar & dining area overlooking the Esplanade. The breakfast was perfectly decent!
