East Maui, United States of America hotel rooms at the Outrigger

"Would give 3.5 stars if I could add a half star. This is one of the newer resorts in Wailea I think. A little further up from the beach but still very close so that shouldn't be a deterrent. Staff were excellent which is the bulk of the 3.5 stars and the pool area is quite beautiful. However- the restaurant is terrible. Ate there multiple times due to no other options because of the Kona storm. Minimal effort, the food is BAD (except the fries, those are great!). Overpriced. At one point I ordered a chicken caesar salad- I got a salad but certainly not that. A pile of lettuce, parmesan shards from a shaker, and a small pile of teriyaki chicken, slightly overcooked. Bizarre. No room service which is disappointing but they have a mobile pick-up service where they put your food in take-out containers and you get it at the front desk. Not much else in terms of amenities. The hotel itself is crazy overpriced for what you get- if they reduced the rooms a little then it would be more understandable. But the staff really are excellent which is the saving grace."

"This is an excellent property for budget travelers. It has a hostel-like vibe with your own bedroom, fan, fridge, and closet. There are clean shared bathrooms, a shared kitchen, and great scenery with a retreat-like atmosphere. "

"We were put up by Westjet on vouchers. Our first night was in the main wing near the pool. Extremely small & dirty rooms. Very dated. Piss poor air conditioning. Incredibly uncomfortable and lumpy beds. Our 2nd nite was our responsibility and we chose to stay in the tower wing away from the pool. If you have a choice… DO THIS!! Comfortable bigger and completely redone rooms. Queen beds. Spacious shower. Wall mounted PROPERLY WORKING AC! Nite and day difference. Main wings should be shut down and renovated. I’d give the main wing rooms 2 stars at best. Tower rooms were 4.5 "

"The rooms were nice, clean and plenty big. The staff was friendly and went above and beyond amidst the Kona storm. I would recommend and would definitely stay here again."

"My family of 4 really loved our stay here. The staff were so kind and welcoming. Our room was so beautifully decorated and clean!! Loved our bathroom and how clean it was. Loved the full use of their kitchen; we had all the things we needed. The kids can’t wait to go back!"

"The staff is wonderful. We were there for our anniversary and we got complimentary upgrade to executive room, complimentary chocolate dipped strawberry to make it more special. The resort itself is magnificent, the pools are splendid. They have thier own cove which is great to snorkel. We also get to watch the whales from the infinity pool. "

"Great price, close to airport, has a hot tub. The property management was awsome. The main bed was comfortable, but the pull out couch was NOT comfortable at all. So it's great for two adults, but not ideal for 4 adults. "
