Staff receptionist was unhelpful on arrival, Night porters where really good. Room looking like it been a store room previously and just made into a room not clean and shoddy.

Quick overnight stay, hotel well placed for Sunday afternoon on the Pier and close to the Congress Theatre for my evening concert, likewist 15 odd min walk from Eastbourne Train Station, Stff very helpful, bed room reasonale size with large bathroom (with bath). Coffee/ tea etc in room. Room nice and warm overnight (didn't try T.V. but used the fridge). Will definately book there again if a concert comes up.

It's a grand old building - and some of the public areas downstairs are nicely done, and look great. Big and spacious reception/foyer and bar area as well (Didn't use the restaurant). The room was a good size, and a decent price - but as wih many of these big, old properties, it's worn & tired. It was cleaned well, and plenty of space.

The description do not match the tired look of this hotel and beware that there is an £8 per day charge for parking. My room had botched repairs to the floor tiling and the windows were disgusting. There was no lock on the window with a scaffold ladder right outside. If you want a cheap, central hotel with lovely staff then it’s Ok

We had the windowless room. We needed a twin room but we were shown a double room. The hotel staff were lovely and we were shown a twin room. It was hot but it had fans. Still, it was hot. The breakfast was very good and the staff were attentive. The maintenance staff were excellent too as the toilet was blocked but they were on it straight away. So, all in all, a very pleasant trip except for the heat but it was hot outside.

Super-friendly and helpful over the World Cup final weekend. It was hot in the rooms but a fan and fridge were provided. Full privacy over a several night stay, you only had to ask for towels, etc. Very good shower, lovely sea view and straight onto the Prom. My only comment would be that overnight sometimes rubbish, drinks cans and so on were left outside, so if someone could check that the steps are clean. Would happily recommend

This was a decent hotel and lobby is lovely and modern but rooms are tired and a bit scruffy. not terrible but little things like odd broken tiles in the bathrooms and mould on the silicone. Reception staff adequate but not overly helpful. bar staff on the other hand were great and very accommodating. Great location for town and the Pier with lots of parking at the rear which is chargeable but not expensive. could be a great hotel with a bit of TLC and maybe some retraining for reception staff.

Good breakfast buffet. Room has seen better days, rather shabby. We were on the 4th floor which was very hot, but there was a good tower fan which cooled things down. The shower didn't work, but reception got someone to fix it at some speed. Only the bare minimum printed information in the room - fire precautions, but nothing about facilities, or breakfast times.

Lovely hotel, our room, although a little dated was a great size, large balcony, wonderful views. We had a full bathroom which was perfect and also plenty of tea, coffee and milk not like a lot of fancy hotels where you just get two milk cartons. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast had a good selection.

Couldn’t fault the staff who were friendly, efficient and attentive, but I’m afraid my stay was spoiled by the heat of the bedroom. There was a free standing air cooler provided, but this made no real difference. Perhaps the temperature of rooms ought to be monitored if these extreme temperatures are to be more frequent. The room shouldn’t have been available.
