"We had to call the owner fourteen times before she answered to help us check in. I was thinking we must look for another place. Maid was still making our beds at after nine pm. Mosquito nets did not cover sleeping area. Only one shower had hot water working. Ants all over the kitchen. "

"We arrived after dark by taxi from the airport. Taxi drivers at the airport knew where the hotel was. The external surroundings of the hotel are not very inviting. It is in the middle of an industrial area, behind a petrol station. To get to the hotel we went through a bar and a disco. We were the only non-Africans in the place. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable with framed mosquito nets. The suite of rooms (cant really be called a hotel) were security locked with a key code. When I...
