The room is perfect. Quiet, clean, comfortable. Air conditioning, Sky TV, small fridge, kettle etc, fast WIFI, comfortable bed, bath/shower… everything you need. Nice modern, fresh decor too. I’m looking forward to my next stay.

Even though it purports to be a very popular restaurant and the food is freshly cooked and tasty the menu is limited and its difficult to find anything that doesn't come with chips. Only one salad on the menu. The rooms are good, very comfy beds but most of the bathrooms in the main part of the hotel (I have tried several) have steep steps either on the entrance to the room or within the room and bathrooms are TINY - to the extent that one of them I couldn't put a bath mat down flat!

We were kept awake till1 pm with nightime roadworks out the front of our room Extremely unhappy and grumpy in the morning as we had an early start and an extremely busy day If we were told of this we would have gone to a different htel

The Devon Hotel was rather more than I had expected, being rated as a 3 star hotel with Expedia. Although my single room was compact, it was very comfortable and clean and had all the facilities I needed for my 2 night stay. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful and the public areas were also well decorated and clean. The dining experience in The Carriages bar and brasserie was really delightful- again, nicely appointed and the food was delicious. The hotel was relatively easy to find from the M5 motorway and on a main road (pity about the nearby industrial estate my sat nav took me around first!!). Finally, it was reasonably priced across the board and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

Ran hot water bath. No problem with hot water. Gave it 5 mins to cool down. When returned, realised water had been Running away with plug in place quite fast.plug seal not working. Fridge was hot outside warm inside. Coffee saxhet quality awful. Traffic view. Could do with chill out space at rear with No view of traffic.Trust this helpful.

Staff where very helpful in the hotel as well as bar and restaurant. Room was clean and tidy with everything you needed for a great stay. Bar and restaurant well presented and food was very good.

An unusual gem
Great hotel although somewhat quirky! Really excellent restaurant and bar with great service but in a separate building across a small road. The hotel itself is on a number of levels with a number of staircases. Access to the furthest wing is either via the car park or, internally, by using two staircases and a number of corridors. It is all worthwhile, however, as the hotel is really good value for money. Will definitely use it again.

Great location with excellent staff at Reception. Our family put on a large function and all aspects of this were excellent. Thank you. So, I heartily recommend The Devon Hotel, except... ...we experienced a couple of wrinkles on the food and beverage side of things. The restaurant staff were great but two nights in a row we were unable to have most of the dessert options we wanted because the kitchen staff had gone home and the ovens were switched off and unusable (just after 9:30 on the Friday evening) or the next night when the kitchen staff had already put the chemicals in to clean the ovens (before 9:30). The coffee is terrible and to be avoided at all costs. Drink the much better instant coffee provided in your room for free. Now we know the pitfalls we will have a perfect stay when we return as we know what to avoid - unless management of course actually corrects these errors, which would be ideal. I have to say , though, with coffee that bad and what must be an obvious pattern in poor sales in aspects of restaurant service, I am not even sure there is anyone actually managing the F&B side of things.

Staff were friendly. Price was reasonable. Restaurant/Bar on-site. Room was small with low bulkhead and doorway entry to room. My husband hit his head - there was no signage or markings to bring attention to the hazard. Again the ceiling in the gym was very low when trying to run on the treadmill. Pillows were lumpy which made for an uncomfortable sleep.
