"Stains on bedding, curtains, rugs, grout. We must say: Staff member Alan was EXTREMELY GOOD. He helped us in many ways. Thank you Alan.
Other staff was not very helpful. Just the bare minimum effort.
We were in a very bad room ( very bad!) our first and only after complained were we assured that we would get a better room that matched what thought we purchased. The better room had a non-working TV and poor shower pressure. The shower soap and shampoo was almost empty and the pump on the container was broken. We were too tired to keep asking for our expectations to be met. Maybe we just should have paid more for a good room?
Breakfast was not included in either of our TWO separate stays. We really gave the hotel the benefit of the doubt. We hoped for a view, or a fan etc. we did finally ask for a fan and the front desk got it for us. During our first stay of 6 nights, housekeeping forgot to clean it. We complained about this and got a free beverage which was a nice gesture. The location is nice. Staff could be reached by phone with questions which we liked."
"We are regulars at this tourist hotel which tends to specialise in bus tours for foreign visitors and older travellers. We use it as a base to visit the Highlands north of Inverness and when we had our dog it was great as it is definitely dog friendly. In general the hotel is a little tired but the bus tourists certainly keep the numbers up. There is a very good Chinese restaurant and a pizza restaurant within walking distance if you want to eat out as the bus tours tend to fill the hotel restaurant. The staff are very helpful and there is often musical entertainment in the evening."
"I pre-booked the hotel weeks before I traveled. The website said that the retreat house had restaurants, lounge, and bar amenities that I thought would be useful for my stay. The restaurant was not opened when we arrived. The bar//lounge had no staff. We asked the only employee we ever saw when the restaurant would be open and she said it’s only open for breakfast. We came downstairs in the morning at 8:30. The sign on the dining room said that breakfast was served at eight to ten. No one to be found anywhere a ghost town.
Our room was on the third floor and there was absolutely no water pressure in the shower. There was no television and the Wi-Fi was intermittent. The windows weren’t insulated and it was cold, even though it had been a sunny day. My traveling companion turned the heater on, but she never did get warm. The listing on the website looks like a magnificent place and we were really looking forward to a wonderful comfortable stay but we never had any contact with service personnel or employees that made us feel welcome no greetings no goodbye very very odd."
"Very nice place.
The host welcomed us and after a chat recommended options for our evening meal and showed us to room. The room was a gòod size and very comfortable bed.
We ordered the continental breakfast for the following morning starting with a fresh fruit salad. It was lovely.
Would I stay here again? Tòo right lovely place"
"My wife and I had a really lovely 2-night stay at the Highland Rooms. Luke was great with the communications and Ayla was super friendly and helpful on our arrival. Our room was well-equipped, spacious and the bedding was very comfortable. Magnificent views across the Loch and the township just a short walkable distance. We loved the Highland Rooms and highly recommend it."
"We had a double suite which was superb. The only improvement I could suggest would be a tv in the room. Else it was 10/10.
Plus if you get the opportunity visit & eat in the walled garden."
