Amazing Masseria experience!

We had an amazing week at Masseria Salamina. The castle grounds were incredible and service was top notch. Food and wine at dinner was excellent. Plenty of room for our family with a great pool area to relax. We will definitely be visiting again.

Splendida masseria a poca distanza dal mare

Ho soggiornato in questa masseria per una decina di notti con mia moglie lo scorso mese di Giugno e il soggiorno ha soddisfatto in pieno le nostre aspettative. In particolare la zona cosi detta "padronale" presenta ambienti raffinati che non ci si aspetterebbe di trovare in una antica masseria ristrutturata. Anche la piscina, molto pulita, è decisamente notevole, immersa tra gli ulivi. Al nostro arrivo abbiamo avuto subito la prima gradevolissima sorpresa della proposta di up-grading della nostra camera che ovviamente abbiamo accettato con soddisfazione. Ottima la cucina basata su prodotti locali.

We enjoyed everything about our stay here. Our room, the surroundings, the staff - everything was great. The interior was beautiful, authentic and clean, and the outdoor area was equally beautiful. The courtyard restaurant was lovely with a nice and friendly staff. Many waiters did not speak English well, but they were very welcoming and communication was overall easy. While the food appeared fresh and homemade, for some reason it lacked a little extra flavor (and salt) at times, but overall a good dining experience with excellent wine and coffee. From the masseria, it’s easy to access other destinations and sights by car which was important to us, so the location is excellent. Our only “negative” remark is that the pool area is bombarded with loud kids in the afternoon, and if you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing afternoon after sightseeing, beware of this. Thanks for a lovely stay - we will definitely come back when visiting Puglia again!

We loved it!

The Masseria is a wonderfully peaceful place. The staff are terrific, lovely pool and farm land surroundings. But best if all, absolutely fantastic local food cooked and presented with love and care.

Awesome place

Everything was amazing. Staff is so nice and helpful. Pool is great, food always homemade and different every night. The meals in the courtyard was just the cherry on top.

Lovely stay, great location

The Masseria is absolutely beautiful with a gorgeous pool. Breakfast and dinner was great although the breakfast wasnt always replenished that quickly and the lunches were nothing special. We loved being within a 30 min drive of Ostuni, Monopoli, polignano, and Alberobello. You have to pay extra for pool towels which I think is quite unnecessary!

Schitterende lokatie. Keurig ingericht, uitgerust appartementje (Kamer, slaapkamer, minikeuken en mooie badkamer met douche) met zitje op de langs lopende arcade. Goed restaurant met iedere twee standaardmenu's. Mooie wijn. hoog tempo van uitserveren. Nadeel is dat het redelijk afgelegen ligt. Je hebt voor de bezienswaardigheden(Locorontodo, Alberobello, Monopoli) altijd de auto nodig.

Watch out for the food

Booked for two nights, not wanting to drive to have dinner, first meal was fine, but second meal resulted in stomach upset during the night, attributed to veal strips as main course. My wife was fine as she had everything except the veal.

住所などの記載間違えていて行くまで不安でした、実際はホテルオーナーが同じホテル内に住み家族が持ちよく対応して頂けましたら、モノポリのレストランも教えて頂き良い旅となりました、難点はレンタカーなどで無いと行けません。 ホテルは小さなお城で普段では味得ない経験となりました。

love the romantic and historic building, but with elegant and modern rooms. it is a bit removed from the town, which is very small to begin with, but that can be a positive. the price for low season,in november was good. the only real great disappointmwnt is breakfast, which features most things not local and not even from the supposedly good agriturismo's productions. so it included salami from milan and speck from tirol and ham from parma, rather than local capocollo or others. or simarly very small selection of cheeses, which again include emmenthal and other non local stuff. also no fresh fruit prepared or bruachetta even. a real disappointment that made not want to try their night restaurant. other than that very beautiful and pleasing.

Beautiful spot for a relaxing few days

Beautiful spot to relax for a few days (amazing pool) and from where to visit some of Puglia’s attractions (highly recommend the Zoosafari if that’s your kind of thing). It is very remote so a car is essential if staying here, also as taxis are extremely expensive in the area. The on-site restaurant is lovely and the menu changes every night so you don’t have to venture far for great food (although Viantica in nearby Pezze di Greco is fab and definitely worth a visit too). May have been the time of year but there were a lot of mosquitos, flies and bugs so go armed with good bug spray and after bite!

Lovely family-run masseria

Surrounded by farmland, you really feel a slower pace of life the moment you arrive at the masseria. We stayed for a week, and aside from enjoying the beautiful surroundings, manager/owner Filippo could not have been more helpful and accommodating to our group. The food was also excellent. We didn't try the dinner menu, but did have lunch one day. Everything was so fresh and delicious- not surprising given that everything is organic and locally grown.

Peaceful place; total tranquility.

A superb family owned hotel who put the satisfaction of their guests a top priority at all time. The room was spacious and clean; the facilities excellent; the food was of high quality. We thoroughly recommend this hotel to all, and will definitely go back again.

Excellent on all counts

We stayed for 3 nights and were unexpectedly upgraded to the superior suite in the manor house which was extra special for us. The suite had a spacious living room, bath with jacuzzi as well as a separate shower and balcony with a great view (see pics). However, we wouldn't want anyone to think that the room was the only important aspect of our stay - it was just icing on the cake. The masseria was beautiful itself with a lovely pool and a peaceful location. The staff and owners were all very attentive, friendly and helpful and made the experience extra special. We are not the easiest people to satisfy regarding our food needs but our waitress Giusy was tolerant of our needs and carefully explained what we could and could not eat as well as suggesting and organising alternative dishes for each dinner we had whilst we were there. We thanked her for her attentive service before we left and now everyone who reads this review can know we really did appreciate her help! Dinner started with an appetiser of 4 different very interesting dishes that got the taste buds going and introduced thoughts of how we could use some of the ideas in our own cooking. Second course was usually pasta, then a third course of meat or fish followed by dessert just in case one was still hungry - not likely. The cost was very reasonable. Breakfast was a good choice of the usual breads, yogurts, eggs, cakes, fruit, juices, cereals - this is not a place you'll go hungry. So full marks on all counts.

A secret getaway

A getaway amongst the olive trees. An incredibly beautiful place to spend some quiet time. Wish we were there longer. Couldn't fault a thing. Will definitely recommend.

La vie de château au milieu des oliviers.

En famille, 3 générations, super séjour d'une petite semaine, malgré un temps un peu capricieux, avons profité pleineme t de ce beau château-fort, superbement rénové et mis en valeur dans un magnifique environnement, oliviers centenaires etc... La région est superbe et tout le monde a apprécié.

Dimora d'epoca ricca di atmosfera. Relax in piscina e colazione con prodotti a km 0, in buona parte provenienti dall'azienda di famiglia. Buona posizione per esplorare sia le coste che l'entroterra, oppure rilassarsi in piscina con vista ulivi.

We would love to stay again!

What a wonderful find! We had four days at Massaria Salamina at the end of April. A wonderful genuine antique feel to the place Beautiful room, well equipped,looking out the window over the olive groves and farm. We ate at the Masseria every evening, and felt we experienced very authentic quality food, subtly presented and a joy to eat. We enjoyed the mingling with children and families and felt comfortable and relaxed at all times, like staying with friends. The location enables easy journeys to the trulli houses at Alberobello and the beautiful hilltop town at Ostuni. We were also able to relax peacefully by the pool, or walk to the local town. Perfect stay, and very memorable.
