There were no carpets in the room which was fabulous! The bed was comfortable and the room is equipped with key controlled lights and cooling. The hotel is very quiet and I had no trouble sleeping until the last night. There was a sound that mimicked a bass or subwoofer that kept me up. The second room (1404) was nice and clean. Unfortunately the noise from Michigan Avenue is pretty much unbearable. It's an old building and no sound proofing has been done to the walls ... even from the 14th floor I could hear sirens all night, cars drag racing, and even gun shots.
