"We first visited the Salutation Hotel 29 years ago as a wedding venue and it was a premium location then. Getting the opportunity to stay there again now, we were excited to see it again. Unfortunately, it isn’t what it once was, although it was eerily familiar as little has been done to maintain or upgrade it over that time it seemed. However, there were redeeming features apart from the trip down memory lane. These included a very good hot breakfast, with an excellent manager (female) running the process, a reasonably well stocked bar with hotel prices although not too exorbitant. Easy check in and out, and finally a good location.
Let down by overall condition of the hotel, especially what was supposed to be a superior twin room. "
"The staff that cleaned the rooms were excellent but the response from the spa manager Ryan leaves a lot to desire we had booked a massage and paid £80 for it explaining that we were only there for 4 nights when we turned up for the massage they could not find any record of the booking when they did finally find the booking it was for a week later the staff explained that the manager had to pass the refund when he finally got in touch with me I got no apology no sorry for the inconvenience this caused as it was for a special gift to my wife’s sister on her birthday and retirement only wanted my bank details for the refund which would take 5-7 days all in all quite a disappointing few days also pool cold and hot tub out of order for our full stay"
"This was a lovely place to stay. We chose the very basic room which suited our needs. If you’re looking for a lavish holiday, this might not be the room for you but for a cozy place to stay travelling from a to B this was perfect for us."
"We asked for a cup of tea to go with the buffet & was told we couldn’t have one, We were told you can have the tea bags but can’t use the kettle that was sitting beside the teabags, we even offered to pay for the tea. very disappointed in the staffs reaction to the situation. We won’t be in a hurry to come back"
