An old home turned into apartments. Small and comfortable. Every room has a refrigerator, but the big fridge, microwave and kurig are down in the main lobby.
I come for the jetted tub and fireplace.
Close to everything downtown, with a Starbucks right behind it.
I checked in one night, and one of the guestrooms were wide open, but the guests were no where to be found. I let the people know about this, and they came right away to make sure everything was ok.
Ive already stayed here 5 - 10 times, and will definitely keep coming back.
Charming. The heating electric fireplace in the room was nice on a Winter morning. The snacks were considerate. I would suggest adding an electric tea kettle and teas.
A really nice find. Owner responses were immediate and the room was very charming. With such a great location, it was easy to walk around downtown. And it's a block or two from the library.
Loved learning the history of the hotel. Quaint and quiet. Super clean and loved access to all the amenities. Cant wait to return. We had no issues with check in at all. Great communication!
Great place to stay right in the heart of downtown. Overall the instructions for parking and entering the building were very clear and easy to understand. The suite was clean. Came with extra amenities like a electric fireplace and a fridge. The jacuzzi bathtub is definitely big enough for two people. The bed was comfortable and clean. Plenty of pillows.
A couple things I would suggest would be more detailed pictures of what comes with each room and the entrance way that leads up to the second floor. The outside walk way from the parking lot to the front door is lil uneven and caused me to trip once. No temp control for individuals rooms. A small fan in each room wouldn't be a bad option. Overall great place to stay. I would definitely book again.
Our stay at LaSalle Guest House was very enjoyable. The location (walkable to the Embassy Theatre and the Grand Wayne Convention Center) and multiple dining options was perfect. The room was clean, spacious and well appointed. The reception room with coffee and snacks was an unexpected bonus. Logistical info (door codes, parking instruction, etc.) was communicated in a timely manner. Attention to a few small items would complete the picture: the room was lacking an iron and ironing board. When travelling, the ability to iron dress shirts is a must. The closet had only two hangers. (This was rectified on day 2 of our stay - thank you). A box of Kleenex/tissues would be nice. Two drinking glasses would also be appreciated. Overall, I would highly recommend LaSalle Guest House!
A gorgeous historical building. The rooms feature the necessary modern amenities. The facility is "self service" in that there is no front desk and "check in" is by receiving entry codes to the front door and one's room. My room faced a busy street but street noise does not bother me, but it might some one else. Being an old building, there is nothing of sound-proofing between rooms so I got to hear the sounds of other guests. Parking on site. Very close restaurant choices, ranging from fast food to fine dining.
This was a great place to stay, and if I am ever back in Fort Wayne Indiana I will try to book here again. The key is understanding the type of place this is. If you go into it expecting it to be like a hotel or a B&B, then you will be confused and disappointed. It is really more of a self-directed guest house. There was never any staff that I saw, rather you take care of everything yourself. The day that we arrived I had the door codes emailed to me. That code got me in the front door of a stately old house with a great history bad inside had been renovated into multiple individual Suites surrounding a common living room. In the common living room there were extra towels, a fridge and coffee maker, and a constantly replenished Supply of snacks. Inside our suite was a typical bedroom with a large comfortable bed, a TV with a Roku, and your own bathroom and shower. It is very close to the convention center downtown, and is walking distance from most amenities. I was in Fort Wayne for a festival, and this really was the perfect place for me to stay. I don't need Hotel staff to babysit me, so I was happy to be more independent here for a more affordable price. My only complaint was that in our suite, the Lincoln bedroom, while the toilet was around the corner from the main sleeping area, there was no actual door separating the two. Maybe your marriage is at the stage where you go to the bathroom with the door open, but after 25 years mine still isn't!
I loved the historic nature of this property. I was traveling with my 20 year old daughter and didn’t really feel safe there. There were no employees on site. The home had 6 (?) rooms that were all keypad accessible. We were the only guests in the home. It felt weird. It would have also felt weird had there been people there without a staff. Maybe that’s just me. The room was lovely, nicely decorated and had everything we needed except for the following: one window didn’t have proper drapery which allowed our room to be viewed from the outside. This also allowed for very bright lights from the building across the street into our room. As another guest previously said, no control of the A/C and I found it to be too warm for me. I would have also preferred to have a separate bolt or chain lock independent of the keypad. Another concern I had was the lack of means to egress the building (in case of fire). There was only a front door. No other door was accessible to us and we were on the second floor.
Some pluses! The common area was very nice with free snacks made available as well as a keurig coffee maker. This location may be a bit more fun if you’re traveling with more people and if they can fix some of my concerns.
Great accommodations! Always wanted to stay here. It was a great couple's getaway. Only downside - The "king" bed was a little uncomfortable where the two twins came together and access to additional blankets would have been nice.
Otherwise, nice, quaint, clean! Definitely would recommend and use again!
I was able to bring food so I did not have to eat out. I walked to the library everyday knowing that in the evening I could go back to the Sion Bass house and relax. The managers were friendly and helpful. I plan on coming again next year. By staying 3 nights I was able to do several hours of genealogy research at the library. The owners responded quickly when I had a question.
The people on the property are very nice. The property is super cute! The noise level at night was aweful! There also was no space to put your luggage or unpack. No dresser space AT ALL! This is a super romantic spott. It would be great for a weekend, at least in our room, but no loner than that. Oh, and the bathtub was amazing, like a small swimming pool!
