Just the most amazing place to stay. Stunning setting, beautiful gardens, lovely rooms, wonderful spa, great staff. I have several food allergies and I was really well looked after at breakfast and in the restaurant.

If you want to stay in Funchal and want more than another soleless hotel, this place is a hidden oasis of calm and stunnkng tropical gardens hidden from the outside world. Everything about this hotel is so well done. Not all hotels are the same.

I loved the fact that this property was in a very quiet neighborhood, yet a very short and pleasant walk to dining, shopping and sightseeing options downtown. The level of attentiveness and service from the staff is outstanding and breakfast is fantastic. Nice oasis operating at 4*

Grounds were lovely. Beds comfortable. Constant hum in room audible.... A/C was off. Small TV on only piece of furniture in the room. We could have used more surface area to spread out. Surprised that small individual toiletries provided rather than larger, easier to use dispensers. Not very environmentally friendly. 1 hand towel was dirty on arrival. We were only staying 2 nights so didn't want room serviced ie less washing etc, so left no service sign on door. This was adhered to. However, on our return after evening meal, housekeeping had been in to do turn down and replenished all towels and empty bins....which we had tried to avoid in the morning. Just seems a waste of energy and resources. I do feel like we were not quite as well looked after/welcomed as others. We were mother/daughter guests.

Fabulous small, luxury hotel set in beautiful and extensive gardens and grounds. Good breakfast, dining and bar and two lovely outdoor pools, heated to just the right temperature. Staff are all amazing - nothing too much trouble.
