Definitely an older property, I thought it was a bit overpriced, but maybe not for Galveston. Safe parking area, but you couldn’t always park in front of your room because of limited space. Nice that there were two restaurants on the property. Observation deck was nice. After dinner drinks at the pool was fun, would’ve been more enjoyable if the music wasn’t so loud. Definitely don’t get a beachview/pool side room if you want to go to bed early. Check-in was easy and the girls at the front desk were nice. Breakfast was a good selection of hot and cold items. Beware of the birds if you eat out on the patio, they know it’s breakfast time!

The property is outdated and really gave me sketchy vibes when first pulling up. The room wasn’t really clean and there was mold on the mattress cover. I was disappointed based on the 8 stars it has on Expedia. The pool was beautiful though.

For an inexpensive motel this was great. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean On one night there was a group of people on the balcony about 2 rooms down from us being kind of loud but once we closed our room door we couldnt hear them. We also didnt notice much traffic noise. So the room was very quiet. Our only complaint was breakfast. The food was great, especially the burritos. But the orange juice tasted like it was made from rotten oranges. It was so bad that we went to Walmart and bought our own for the next morning. The room was decorated cute. And we had a straight shot view of the gulf...not like many of the hotels in Galveston were the view is at an angle. As far as the 2 restaurants, we didnt know you needed reservations for Gaido's so we didnt get to try their food. We would have had to wait 1 1/2 hours. But from seeing the staff and inside of the restaurant, I dont think we really cared for the atmosphere anyway. Nothing really wrong with it...just not our thing. So we ended up going to Nick's next door. The staff was rude if they even acknowledged you. So I would skip both restaurants. There are many more along Seawall that are convenient to this hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

I arrived and immediately felt bamboozled. The pictures were misleading and the room was hot and sticky. However, after adjusting the AC, the carpet didn’t feel quite so moist and we went to eat at Nick’s. Amazing food and service. It was late and the pool was rowdy until 11pm or so (our room was poolside). We even heard lots of people talking outside late into the night, like 3-4am, drunk. The morning was quiet and after a wonderful breakfast on the terrace, we basically had the pool to ourselves. We stayed there for 6 hours and had drinks from the poolside bar. They didn’t have kid friendly versions of frozen drinks, so a milkshake had to do. We ate at Nicks a second night and it was just as great. The beach was a short walk and was clean with rentable chairs and umbrellas. There were plenty of options for parking and we moved around a few times but never needed to leave the property! We had two beds and one was amazing, the other not so comfy. Overall 7/10 and we’ll probably return some day.
