The Star Grand at The Star Gold Coast

"Staying here allowed quick and easy access to our conference at the Convention Centre next door. The casino bars had $5 house wines and beer, winning! There was also a walkin bistro in the Casino offering very affordable meals. If you have your actual licence card, you can get a STAR member card allowing 10% discount too, and you earn points for what you spend. This was VERY convenient as we didn’t need to go out to eat. The Pacific Fair shops are a quick 15 min easy walk too. Amazing facility close to everything. Staying in a room with 2 double beds allowed my colleague and I the opportunity to share, again a cost saver! The concierge team were helpful too."

"We booked in for one night, staff were amazing , place was good, but maybe a little dusty because my son’s allergies fleared up really bad. His eye was blood shot red and itchy But also the next morning we woke up to dripping and I thought my son didn’t turn the shower off. But it was the place above us dripping water into the bath. Which I found gross. And I still had to have a shower and wash my hair 😭 , when I told them they did say they would move our room. But we were checking out that day anyway. But I would probably stay here again."

"I had no issue with the property as we didn't stay there. We tried to book the property via the Hotel website for a date in June but there was no availability. However, the web site said that rooms were available via Expedia. I clicked on the link assuming that the dates we had already selected would carry accross. We booked a room in the Hotel through Expedia. We received a confirmation email and noted that the date booked was that day not the June date. We tried to call the number shown on the Expedia email and the recording said that the number didn't exist. We then called the Hotel and cancelled the booking for that night and they said they would contact Expedia. We received an email advising that the reservation falls within the cancellation penalty window. We were assured that our concern had been forwarded, and they would assist us in ensuring the cancellation is processed that same day. We have not heard anything since and despite cancelling immediately we paid the full fare for the room."

"The room was fine, there were a few little things that I noticed that could’ve done with a proper clean. The bed was awful. We stayed three nights and by the third both of us were nearly crippled. The breakfast buffet was a tad disappointing, though the staff there were fantastic. There was issues with hot water and we ended up with barely warm water for the last night and morning showers. Reception staff were super friendly upon check in and out. Location is good too, tucked away like it is. It’s quiet and we didn’t hear road noise. Food was really great!"
