"Cleanest and nicest place I have ever stayed in Ethiopia. Fast and fresh breakfast made to order. I had to evacuate early due to COVID-19. I watched the hostess, Helen, calmly help many very stressed travelers She and the staff went above and beyond. She let me use her phone, since all the airline websites were crashing. So kind and helpful"

"This hotel is absolutely excellent! It is beautiful, clean and safe and the staff are exceptional! It is a little away from Gondar town which is really nice and it is gated with security. It has outdoor patio area and a rooftop sitting area and a bar. Our stay Included breakfast which was made to order and delicious! Rooms have a balcony and are elegant and comfortable. Hot water at all times and they have a generator. We will absolutely be staying again! Thank you to the staff!! "

"One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. The room was barren with fluorescent lighting that made it feel like a prison. It is old and falling apart. There was no hot water. The lock on the door fell into pieces and I was trapped in the room. At 7:30 p.m. the dining room and bar were deserted and the place felt like it was the setting for a Stephen King novel. Breakfast was inedible. The only redeeming feature was the staff who were friendly and apologetic for all of the problems. Microphones from the nearby church started chanting at 2:00 a.m. and went non-stop through the morning. This place is an embarrassment to the Haile hotel chain."
