"From the moment you're greeted for check-in, to the moment you check-out, it's nothing short of 5 stars. The staff are extremely helpful and polite, always catering for your needs which is what you expect from a resort like Amirandes. We came here for our minimoon and we loved it. The main restaurant for buffet and dinner were very good! Shout out to the person making omelettes every morning, they were delicious. We never had any issues getting a sunbed near the outdoor pool, and overall it was such a pleasant stay :)"
GDM Megaron Historical Monument Hotel

"It was my second time staying at the Megaron in three years. Positives: 1. The hotel’s location and views were fantastic. It is a short walk to the marina, the Venetian fortress, ferry docks, and the center of the city. 2. Views from the restaurant on the top floor and the small swimming pool are spectacular. 3. The breakfast buffet was immense and offered something for everyone. The dining room setting is also luxurious, and the staff very accommodating and helpful. 4. We booked two tours independently, and pick up from the hotel was easy. 5. The staff at reception are some of the nicest, most friendly staff I have met. 6. The room we had (king sized bed) was clean, spacious, and decorated beautifully, sparing no expense. Cons: 1. The pool is on the small side. 2. The blanket on the bed was thin."

"This is a new hotel and although it has a five star rating it is not quite yet a five star experience. Rooms are very comfortable and well equipped, but it is a bit soulless, it feels like a 4-star, it’s corporate rather than boutique. Definitely pay for a sea view room otherwise your view will be an ugly shopping centre. The location outside the Venetian city walls in an underdeveloped quarter of the city means a 25 minute walk into the old town in 30C heat, or multiple taxis. The rooftop pool is nice for a dip, with a lovely sea view, but the lounging area is very small. Breakfast is buffet style, no eggs to order, no a la carte. Staff are excellent and friendly, the gym is decent (although the music is loud and there’s no option to control it). There’s an unfortunate ‘signature scent’ in all public areas. Cheap, synthetic, powdery. If you want to explore the coast west of Heraklion this is a good location. But if you want to enjoy the museums, restaurants and bars in the city, this perhaps isn’t the best spot."

If you are ever in two minds about booking Creta Maris, this is your sign to do it. You will not regret it."
Royal & Imperial Belvedere Resort - All inclusive

"The hotel was massive and there are so many activities for all ages. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. My family and I ate at Dedalos Main Restaurant but they had so many other options. I do suggest that if you want to eat at the à la carte dining restaurants to book at least a week or so in advance because they require reservations. Also, for the activities, book a day or so in advance. They do have transportation from the hotel to the star each where you can do water sports. It caters to all ages as well. One of the best family resorts I have been to in a while!"
