I contacted the hotel immediately after checkout, yet they kept claiming they had never seen anything and that nothing was found. I know exactly where I left my belongings, but the hotel denied everything and took no responsibility whatsoever.
When I complained in person at the lobby, they told me, "We'll follow up. If we find it, we'll contact you. If not, we'll consider compensation." But once I left LA, I sent multiple emails—which they read but never replied to for days.
What made it worse was that while I was seriously explaining the situation, some staff nearby were smirking and laughing, as if it was a joke. It was disrespectful and completely unprofessional.
