“Very modern, refurbished room, overlooking the beer garden and caravan site. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of goodies in the room, including fresh milk in the mini fridge, and the extra treats you get for staying with a doggo. “The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. I think Expedia have been misleading not detailing the facts about that particular...

“The Wheatsheaf is a typical pub hotel. Clean rooms with friendly staff. Breakfast was individually cooked to order and was very good.”

“Only small gripe was the shower head had a bit of black mould on it and one roller blind came away whilst I was closing it. Luckily my husband was able to clip it back in quickly. Room and bedding both clean, grounds beautiful and well maintained. Breakfast was fantastic, quality hot cooked breakfast and very pleasant staff. We would visit again, thank you.”

“Really enjoyed our stay. Designated parking for the hotel guests. The staff are very friendly. Check in was quick and smooth. Nice and comfortable room. We had dinner in the pub and the staff were great and so was the food/ drink. Had very good night sleep and then a really good quality breakfast the next morning. Will happily stay again in future.”
