"The aircon was broken in the hotel, meaning the room was unbearably hot when trying to sleep. It would have been nice if the hotel had contacted us prior to the stay to inform us and given us the option of cancelling."
"The hotel was really good for staying for a local under-14s football tournament. What was a bit frustrating was that we booked it to have access to the pool, which was advertised, only to discover it’s actually the university’s swimming pool.
When we booked to go swimming on the Saturday, it was shut for maintenance (which I know the hotel can’t do anything about). The Sunday slot we booked was only lane swimming, as half the pool was taken up with swimming lessons and the other four lanes were for lane swimmers. It wasn’t really the sort of swimming for our children that you'd expect from a hotel.
The rest of the experience was excellent. Breakfast was really good and the staff were really helpful."
"Cleanliness kept to a good standard. Staff in reception, breakfast bar and cleaners very helpful. Good choice of food for breakfast, full English and continental, pastries were good, nice coffee machines. Accessible parking and with voucher code from the hotel keeps it at an affordable price. Overall good experience, nothing to complain about."
"I liked our room it was large had every facility you could need available in it, the bathroom had a bath and shower and was so clean it glistned as was the main room. The meal at our function was beautifully presented and tasted amazing, the staff were all so friendly and helpful. The pub attacked next to the hotel was lovely We sat. In the garden at the back it was so relaxing, ... , The choices at breakfast were excellent it was self service the food was piping hot and cooked to perfection. Finaly my rating for the Spa and pool I could have stayed there all weekend everything you need to relax is there and it is not over crowded. All in all I think Orton Hall is a wonderful place to stay."
"I had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel so welcome with their kindness and professionalism. Their warm hospitality really made my experience special. I also loved the amenities — everything was well-maintained and added so much comfort to my stay. The food was absolutely delicious, and every meal was something to look forward to. Thank you to the entire team for making my visit so memorable. I genuinely appreciated the care and effort, and I would be happy to return again."
