"So first things first, my original room was not ideal. There was mold by the air vents, AC doesn't work too well and the walls, bedsheets and smell of the room wasn't what I hoped for. Luckily I was able to change my room to a far better one with great views. The staff was really accommodating with that.
Now, Riu Republica is in fact a party resort, there is a lot to do, to keep you active. Plenty of drinks to go around and trust me, those drinks will creep on you before you know it. The staff were okay, but some of them looked really annoyed if you ask them for something.
The restaurants were pretty bland, but I found Kulinarium to be one of the better ones. Their breakfast and the jerk chicken spot were also top teir in terms of quick free food.
We also had a night where there was no water for a couple of hours and everyone had to use bottled water to shower, flush toilets and whatnot.
Overall, despite their flaws, It is still a fun resort to be at. Just know that you sort of get what you paid for since it is a cheaper option."
