โA Beautiful Stay in the Heart of Cartmel
We had such a wonderful stay at the Cartmel Old Grammar Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff couldnโt have been more friendly, welcoming, and genuinely lovely โ they made us feel completely at home.
The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and immaculately finished, with thoughtful touches throughout. With some really lovely communal spaces to get to know other guests and not feel tucked away in your room all day. It strikes the perfect balance...
โThis is really a pub with rooms. Suits us fine. Several places within 100 yards for breakfast. Lovely beers, friendly staff, welcoming to families, limited menu but v good cooking. Great room overlooking the square. Super beer garden. Recommend.โ
โThe room was lovely, attention to detail was excellent they thought of everything for the room or should I say suite! There was a hot tub outside that we used. Breakfast was served in our roomโฆ.lots of choice for breakfast and the food was delicious.
We had booked 3 nights but only stayed one night unfortunately. We were going to a wedding and I had booked the wrong hotel! The staff were very accommodating trying to arrange for us to go to the wedding hotel which they did! So it was an...
โThe property is a lovely place that has kept its unique original features. The Victorian facades and interior are refreshingly maintained. The staff are all very welcoming and genuinely friendly. Well located in a rural spot but 5 minutes walk into town, via the sea front promenade.โ

I eventually arrived at a building signposted as the โequestrian centreโ so I drove a bit further and ended up driving around some lane in a woods (surrounded by curious deer and badgers!). I rang the owner again and...
โWe checked in to this beautiful old inn, and were greeted by owner Johnathan, we were shown to our room and told if we needed anything just ask. Being the winter the kitchen is closed Monday and Tuesday which Johnathan apologised for, we replied itโs absoulutly fine. He told us of the local Chinese just up the road and said please feel free to bring it back to our room to eat, which we did.
Excellent Chinese takeaway.
We slept like logs and woke to have full breakfast that Jonathan cooked which...
