“The Inn looks like it is on it's last legs.
The other 3 pubs in Hawes all were doing a roaring trade over the hot bank holiday , but the Board closed around 7.30pm , had no food and very few clients.
The breakfast in the Cockett next door was very average. Never seen green scrambled eggs before....they were rank and inedible.”
“We just stayed four nights at this hotel.
We enjoyed the location of the property—not to far from Leyburn, Hawes, or Grassington.
Good location for short and long walks or hikes.
You can walk to the falls from the hotel, and there are footpaths if you want to walk to all three falls. That was fun.
Just a quick drive to visit Bolton Castle—worth the visit.
We enjoyed the breakfasts—nice selection of pastries, cereals and fruit. And, the selection of hot items on the breakfast menu was...
“Another wonderful stay at Stow House - a beautiful boutique hotel in the Yorkshire Dales.
We stay in the Cowboy room - wonderful room with roll top bath and heaps of space, with fantastic views over the Dales!
We keep returning due to the great hospitality… this will be our 4th stay and we will be back!
Breakfast delicious. Decor is cool & stylish. Artwork on the walls. Lots of books. Honesty bar & cocktail hour with homemade cocktails from the Savoy cocktail book, kindly served in the bar...
“The hotel was out in the countryside with excellent views over the moors. It was very clean and well cared for. Car parking was good. The room size, bed size, etc was great. One small problem - the room lighting was not very bright during the night time. The food was excellent and the staff were great. It was also a great place for walkers with great access to the countryside. I would recommend it.”
“This is a place that has been designed to make you feel at home. The rooms are tastefully decorated with colorful fabrics and interesting decorations. The pub is dog and human friendly and is a popular spot for locals. Jack, the Bernese Mountain dog is regularly present as he belongs to Kenny, one of the owners.
Kenny and staff have put together an eclectic playlist of songs that are ever present in the background but not so loud as to interfere with conversation. The entire staff works hard to...
“Cosy cottage, comfy beds, large fluffy towels, good heating, easy to control.
Kitchen well stocked, utensils that worked( knives sharp, plenty of pots and pans)
Great location for exploring the Yorkshire countryside, nice walk into Askrigg which has nice pubs, food, artisan shop.
Owners responded to queries quickly .
Note to tall people, watch your head on upstairs bathroom ( I am 150cm and banged my head). This added character to the cottage.”
“Lovely hotel in the heart of Kirkby Stephen. No breakfast, but could be arranged albeit for an extra fee, and a bit too late for walkers. Comfortable bed and bedding. TV and wifi worked well.”
