"Our room was small and poorly equipped. The TV didn't work. The kitchen was closed. It wasn't a terrible stay, but it certainly wasn't worth the price we paid. "

"Booked for one night and paid just shy of £200 for a standard double. The pictures of the hotel and room looked good so was happy to pay,. However, the room we got, room 44 was right at the back of the hotel in the 1980/90's extension, the room was small and tired, particularly in the bathroom where the door has no lock and paint had been knocked off, the ventilation fan also didn't work and wasn't fitted properly. The hotel itself is very nice and the staff are friendly. We also ate in the restaurant which was pleasant but we had a 20 minute wait for our drinks. I felt it was expensive for what it was £100 for 2 starters and 2 mains with 2 drinks. For £300 I feel there is better out there. Made my feelings felt on departure and received an apology and assurances my comments will be passed on, won't be returning."

"We checked that we could get an accessible room before making the booking. We also stated our requirements on the booking form. The request was on the system but unfortunately not fulfilled. We were told if we didn’t accept the room, we would not be refunded (even though the hotel had admitted fault). We were then taken outside (in the rain), to go through the bar, restaurant and many doors before reaching our room. The rooms are extremely outdated, with no air conditioning and the radiator being on, with no means to turn it off. The tiny gap in the open window did nothing to help the situation. Accessibility for wheelchair users is ridiculous. I can honestly say it is one of the worst, disorganised places we have ever had the misfortune to stay at "

"The pros: very clean bed and comfy. Breakfast was decent although a bit greasy. Cons: Our room was very small and in dire need of a deep clean and refurbishment. The walls, carpet and woodwork were dirty, tired and scuffed. We couldn't use the shower because of the foul smells coming from the bath when we ran the water. I'm glad we were only booked in for one night and will definitely look for another place to stay if we return to Stroud "
