I arrived on Sunday, September 29. Neither my reservation with Expedia nor the hotel's site mentioned that the hotel front desk as well as the hotel is closed on Sunday. Luckily I received an email from the hotel a few days before my arrival that advised me of this and the fact that I had to access the key for my room at a lock box at the front door of the hotel using a code sent in the email and thus I was able to let myself into the hotel and my room. Such a great location. If you're ever in the area, this is a place you need to stay. Nice rooms. Great breakfast and wonderful employees.

Wonderful experience in this amazing hotel. To the points that matter the most: room was very comfortable (including very nice bed and excellent shower pressure); breakfast with great variety and good quality; staff very polite and helpful; check in and check out very fast and efficient. Definitely coming back and definitely recommend to others!

Amazing staff. Luxurious hotel. Free parking. Spacious room with a nice view of lake Fuschl (Grand Deluxe Room) if you can afford an upgrade definitely go with it. Spa facilities are a must try, they have an indoor pool, sauna, whirlpool, steam room, as well as massage therapy. Dining is expensive as expected in such places. In short it was a great experience to stay in this castle if you have the opportunity to spend a couple of days here don't miss it.

Super clean. Nice room with all amenities needed but I didn’t see a human being the whole time I was there. Checked in automatically and easily and left before anyone arrived. All good though

Nice modern hotel which once an insurance company. So you have the feel of staying in an historic hotels with modern amenities.

Excellent location, amazing services and friendly staff

The best hotel we have ever stayed at. The views are amazing and the hotel is something out of a good movie. The staff were terrific. We went on a guided one hour torch nature walk that the hotel puts on Friday night. It is truly one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Amazing staff, very friendly and family owned hotel!! Because it’s family owned, it has working hours. BE SURE TO CHECK IN BETWEEN 3PM - 7:59PM (5 hour window). There will be nobody there after hours, and if you’re arrive late, you have to give them a heads up a few hours ahead. I have stayed at the Goldener Hirsch for the past 30 years The hotel and its staff never fail. Charming and comfortable, it is located in the midst of an active tourist area but absolutely quiet inside and completely safe outside. The staff listen carefully and exceed every request. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Salzburg.

I would stay at this hotel again if the need arises.

This is the only hotel that has AC if air conditioning is important to you.
