Excellent staff and location with good food. However, our Lodge had a leaking front door, mould all round the shower tray and grouting, a shower tray that filled with water when using and lumpy pillows.
Highly recommended the hotel. The environment of the hotel is excellent and comfortable. The room is clean and tidy. My child like the playground and I enjoy the view around. Plenty of free parking space which is very convenient. The breakfast nearby is also wonderful and hotel resident got 10%off. We had a dinner in the hotel restaurant as well. The seafood skewer is very nice. No discount for residents though.
Ideal base if you want to visit multiple places. Relaxing watching the estuary fill up and the ducks returning.

We had a lovely room at The Old Quay House with superb views over the Estuary but only for 2 of our three nights sadly. The bed was so comfortable and waking up to that view was wonderful. The Superior room we had for our last night, also looking out over the sea was much smaller with a small double bed. Everything was provided for including binoculars and torches etc. which was a nice touch. Generally we felt a lack of warmth and personal attention especially since they don’t provide breakfast which would enable more staff interaction. Apart from that we had a very pleasant stay.
Really enjoyed our stay at the old Quay Inn. Our room overlooked the estuary, what a wonderful sight.Didnt eat her as we had with our family. Very high standard of hygìene

The room was nice, but the bathroom too small. You couldn't wash yr face or shave as the mirror was far from the hand-wash lavabo. The room was fully accessorised and the bed comfortable. It was a pity for the inexistent sea-sight.
If you stay in room 6 you get your own veranda and not overlooked. Amazing views. Quiet. And waking up to the view of the estuary. Wow. It’s worth paying extra. We will go again.
Friendly, relaxing atmosphere with fantastic views of hayle estuary. Watching the tide come in and go back out from our room and seeing the wild birds in the local area was fascinating. The staff were friendly and the meals were excellent.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay even tho the weather wasn’t on our side. We would definitely return.

Booked and paid for seaview room and was very disappointed to find the water had dried up for quite sometime. The hotel picture and description needs updating. I would not have booked had I’d known.
Lovely welcome, fantastic view from room 7 and the bird book and binoculars definitely came in handy. Disappointed that the excellent food at dinner could not be tried at breakfast - arrangements were offered to eat next door but we were so full from the night before we didn’t bother. Will definitely revisit.

How small is a 4 star room?
Shown in the rain to lovely position with decking overlooking estuary & birds. Staff did not show how to operate heater or manage the door locking system. Did not mention there was a fridge. We had to walk back to main building for assistance. The room was truly tiny like a caravan and at £160 per night with no breakfast, rather a shock. We later learned that the rooms had been 2 rooms but had been converted into 3!! Rather greedy we thought. The guests next door door could be heard through the walls & there was a smell of drains in the tiny bathroom & mould in the shower. The staff very quickly replaced our fridge as it had a broken freezer door and this was much appreciated. So overall a lovely location but disappointing.
Stayed here for two nights in one of the cabins overlooking the river. Overall very impressed and a good stay. Yes the cabins are small but it states that. It's cosy, warm and comfy. Good bed and towels.
Whilest the location isn't really central, The station is a 10 Min walk at St Erth, take a torch as at night it's dark.
Hayle 20 Min.
Birdies and old Forge close by.
Staff were friendly throughout.
Excellent hotel, though a trifle pricey considering out of season stay. Very bad weather (Storm Dennis), so room service brought me an additional room heater - position of fixed radiator under window not ideal, as the thick curtains covered it, I tucked them up onto the window sill out of harm's way. Bathroom was very cold indeed, it appeared floor tiles must be bedded onto uninsulated concrete - the floor sweated and was soaking wet throughout the stay.
However none of the above was more than a glitch - the hotel and all staff were excellent, food was good, and service first class. I stayed as a single occupancy, while visiting my girlfriend who works and lodges in the town, We were looked after very well indeed, and I would have no hesitation in staying here again, and would recommend the Old Quay House to anyone
