"We had a lovely stay in the Beacon View accommodation. It has a back deck with a superb view so we were disappointed it rained for the whole time lol. Perfect spot for exploring the South Downs National Park, or hopping to Lewes, or like us a day trip to Drusillas Zoo...."

"Lindsey and Richard run a wonderful B&B with a cooked to order breakfast with farm fresh eggs. The rooms are spotless and well taken care of during the stay by Lindsey. The area is quiet at night for a good sleep, the yard and gardens lovely, and an excellent pub close by.
We really hope to be back one day."

"This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay! The staff was so welcoming and professional. The bar was cozy and the drinks were fabulous! We loved it!"
"Hotel is a lovely old grande style. We had a seaview room that was enormous with settee, table and chairs, great views over the ocean and spacious bathroom so very comfortable. Only thing missing was a small fridge which could fit easily.
Good restaurant onsite. The buffet breakfast was good (a cheaper option not stated on the menu) as we don't eat cooked breakfasts.
The highlight was the evening piano bar with a great female vocalist (later in the week).
Staff were very good. Parking is fine via a Hotel permit but be quick we were booked while inside getting it!"
"Lovely bright spacious room, really comfy bed. Modern bathroom with plenty of fluffy towels and shower worked very well. Temperature in the room was just right. All the staff cheerful, welcoming, friendly and very helpful.
Great choice for a cooked breakfast with hot plates, and plenty of other options breakfast wise too. Quiet even though near a main road. Would definitely recommend this hotel and l wouldn`t hesitate to stay here again. I booked the Birch Hotel as it was in a central location for a couple of days of visiting nearby Gardens ie Borde Hill, Leonardslee and Wakehurst Place, so glad l did.

"Stained carpets and walls. Toilet bleached but poo still at the bottom. Damp bubbling paint on the window wall, windows missing locks/out style so drafty. General new paint job required - window white varnish flaked off revealing wood timbers, gloss paint also on the window panes. 1 of 2 lifts were out of order and the working lift was single occupancy. The view of the pier was very good from the room. Breakfast was fine, but nothing special, would be improved with a coffee machine offering more options not just black filter coffee which milk can be added to, also only one hot drinks table so service was slow due to queueing."
"Overall, we were satisfied with our stay at the hotel. The location was excellent, the room was clean, we were pleased with the heating, and the price was reasonable. However, we were disappointed to find that the room we were allocated did not correspond with the one advertised online. The photographs showed a room with large panoramic windows, yet the room we received had only two small windows, which was particularly disappointing as the window feature was a key factor in our decision to book this hotel. We also noted that the room did not include a hairdryer, which caused some inconvenience."
