High Black Forest, Baden-Württemberg hotel rooms at the Independent

Such an underrated hotel! This was the cutest simple place we’ve stayed. Ascetically unique with the old style building and modern flare. Staff were so accommodating and make the best breakfast! Would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quaint place to rest your head.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. The room was cozy and clean and the property was fairly central to everything we wanted to do in the Hoch Schwarzwald.

Wonderful quaint location overlooking a valley, away from the drudgery of the city. The room is very clean and modern. The building is charming to say the least. Parking on-site and provided at no extra cost. Breakfast provided at no extra cost. Do stay here.

A wonderful location in the Black forest with the flair of the old Germany the old Black Forest the people working there were absolutely wonderful. It’s a very classy environment. Fantastic food, fantastic wine from barrels. They also have a sauna and a honor system in the seller so if you would like wine or any other beverage, you just take it put your name on it and pay at the end beautiful environment. You can see all the hills and mountains. Nice cute little town walking distance to a bus...

Very nice hotel in the middle of Black Forest. Neat room with a cross country ski at the wall. Excellent breakfast

It's a very good base for walking in the area, though the lake is not as pretty as Titisee up the road. Parking was easy, luckily, but they also give you a pass while you're there and you can take the train wherever you want. If you have a dog, the facilities are good and they were very kind. There's a nice park just up the hill, great for early morning or late night walkies. Very convenient to a grocery store, an atm, and right across the street from the tourist information center! Hotel Spalentor offers a wonderful, well run place to stay in a perfect location for access to the old town or to get to the train station. Old school kind of place wheree they give you a physical key for your room but everything is clean as a whistle.

The hotel was very nice, located in central Basel. The only downside was that it, apparently like other recently renovated hotels, did not have air conditioning (and it was unseasonably hot in Basel.

Beautiful hotel with nice amenities such as the breakfast and free mini bar. Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Location is very convenient for the train station but also an easy walk to attractions. I highly recomment.

It was magical, whimsical and wonderful every step of the way. We couldn't complain about a thing! The staff was so kind and friendly and fun. The sad thing was that we had to leave . You must stay there if your in the Black Forest:)

Very attentive staff. Comfortable rooms. Excellent location, close to the train station and the cathedral. Very good breakfast but pricey.
