The Hubbardton Battle was the only Revolutionary War battle fought on Vermont soil. This is where, on July 7, 1777, Vermont, Massachusetts and New Hampshire troops ended the British pursuit. There is a small museum and a half mile walking trail around the field with signs telling of the history of the battle. Gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. Every year, over the July 4th weekend, there is a reenactment held here, where thousands of people gather to relive the battle.
