"You cannot compare hostels run by the Israel Youth Hostels Association in Israel to general hostels. Private rooms with space for large families, clean dining facilities, etc. Really, the experience is a great one, especially when you're doing various roadtrips and hikes around the country.

This was perfect in every way. It was located right in the Artist Colony with the winding roads and historic stone buildings. The owner, Sharon, was there to meet us and show us the room. Everything seemed very new and clean. Balcony overlooking a mountainous view. Private bath and great shower. The beds were marvelous and we slept right through. It was a quiet neighborhood and restaurants within a short walk.
