Upon check in (after 5PM), no room was available. We waited in lobby for one to become available. Upon entering our room we noticed a very strong chemical smell. Almost toxic, not like standard cleaning supplies used. Laer in the evening we called to alert hotel staff that we found a very moldy apple stuck to in room ironing board. Almost melted into the ironing board. This made me feel like the hotel cleaning was sub par. Due to late time of night, we requested a new ironing board. Later staff called back to let us know we could switch rooms from DOUBLE to a KING. I had my children with me and this would not work. Due to our short stay and lateness of night, we chose to stay in the room rather than shuffle everyone. A new ironing board was brought up. I asked about a discount on our room rate due to issues, an was told a manager would call me in the morning. We left very early for an event. I have not heard from the hotel.

Cool retro vibe in each room, one light switch not working, big shower and restroom. Light for sink was too dark even on high setting. The room was quiet with minimal street noise but we were on the seventh floor. Nice coffee and tea set-up as well as free milk and water in mini fridge. Great food in the diner downstairs for breakfast. Only one minor issue. We ate a delicious breakfast got back to the room a bit after 11:00 am and locked out of the room. Why have a late check out at noon (standard by the way) and punish me with a walk downstairs to have the key reactivated? Would I stay again, heck yes!
